• Keep the Saniderm bandage on for up to five days.
  • When you remove the bandage, hop in the shower and gently rinse your tattoo with clean hands. You may use an unscented antibacterial soap if you wish.
  • Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
  • Apply a thin layer of aftercare product with clean hands several times a day for two weeks.
  • Rinse the tattoo up to two to times a day for the first week, and once a day for the second week.

Cracked, bleeding skin invites potential infection, so do your best to keep the area moisturized.

Do not submerge your new tattoo in standing water for at least two weeks. This includes taking baths, swimming, or hot tub soaks.

If your tattoo forms any scabs, do not pick or scratch them. This will pull ink out of your healing tattoo. Let scabs fall off on their own.

I recommend using Aquaphor Healing Ointment for the first few days after the bandage is removed, followed by an unscented lotion, such as Lubriderm.

Infection is usually very easy to spot, and looks different from normal swelling and redness. If the pain or swelling becomes significantly worse, not better, after the first few days, or if there is obvious pus forming on or under the tattoo, please contact your doctor. Always feel free to contact me if you have any questions during the healing process.
